LAHORE: The Punjab government has issued Sugar Supply Chain Management Order under which strict restrictions have been imposed on sugar traders.
After the approval of the Punjab Cabinet, the Food Department issued a notification under which only registered dealers and wholesalers would be able to buy and sell sugar while the warehouses of sugar mills and dealers would be registered.
According to the management order, in case of shortage of sugar, the cane commissioner and deputy commissioners will have full authority to sell sugar. In case of shortage of stock, the deputy commissioners will have to be notified. Sugar will not be able to sell.
