ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has directed the Attorney General to submit the reply signed by the Prime Minister in the case of release of development funds by the Prime Minister.
The Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan, heard a case of release of development funds by the Prime Minister in which the Attorney General appeared and said that it was not correct for the Prime Minister to give funds to members of the Assembly. If the news is wrong then why not deny it? Every day there is a flood of statements from the Ministry of Information, every day the propaganda machinery of the government bombards the statements but has not yet denied the news of January 10.
During the hearing, the court also sought reply from the Sindh government regarding development funds and the Chief Justice asked the Sindh government to submit a reply so that it could be reviewed.
On this occasion, the Attorney General told the court that the Prime Minister would voluntarily submit the signed reply, so the condition of signing the order should not be written.
The Chief Justice rejected the Attorney General’s request and made the Prime Minister’s reply in the order conditional on signatures.
