In a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan on essential commodity prices, it was decided that action would be taken against the concerned Assistant Commissioner in case of non-implementation of the price list.
A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan to review the prices of essential commodities in which it was stated that according to the data, there has been a clear decline in the CPI.
The meeting decided that the existing market committees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab would be abolished immediately, action would be taken against the concerned Assistant Commissioner in case of non-implementation of the price list and the process of installation of cameras in sugar mills would be expedited. Besides, it was decided in the meeting that details of sales tax collected by the FBR on sugar would be provided to the provincial governments.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said that ample availability of basic necessities at utility stores should be ensured and work on estimates of future commodities like wheat and sugar should be completed as soon as possible.
